Can I still start a small business with economy crisis that we are facing today?
Q. I would love to start a small business, deli/ carry out by next year. But concern about the risk and economy crisis these days. Would it be a bad time to do so? I have own a small restaurant before and have enough knowledge to operate the business. Are banks still lending money for small business owners?

A. Sure, not all banks out there are lending, but there are still a bunch that are. And if you've got a good business, bad economy or not, chances are you'll win out in the end.

Why is marketing important to business, the economy and society?
Q. Please give me your point of view for each point. Its importance in: 1. Business 2. Economy 3. Society
Asked by Zola - Tue May 12 11:06:50 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. For business, when you start with marketing research, you can know how to develop your product, price, place and promotion strategy to match customers' need. It still has CRM to maintain customer in the company for a long time. For economy, when the product is satisfied by customers, it stimulates the demand for products. For society as a whole, product is satisfied by customer. They will be happy. It has to set price at the customer's need level. Standard of living is good.

A. Heres the thing when flying somewhere say to europe. First class and of course you get better meals, people asking you if you need something, serious legroom and certain boarding rights (on the same plane as the rest). For say $9000. How much does an extra pillow or a bottle of wine cost the airline. Business most all of the same stuff, basically the same and access to upgrades to first class maybe... 3000 to 5000 dollars. Move back a bit and for say 2000 you are in premium economy... still lots of legroom and you get basically the same as business. Drinks, service and all of that. Move back to economy. Done right and you pay 700 roundtrip. You still get great service, If you skip domestic airlines like United... and pick Virgin… [cont.]

Q. Just out of curiousity I have been watching business sales diminish the last 3 months. Everyone I talk to especially small business owners say how bad their sales are down. A. Although things have droped signifigantly, I really don't see much of a long term effect, maybe another 3 months tops. The market has started to level off again, and it's still up around 7% since last year. Credit Crunch has diminished real estate, and loaning institutiions, but they've gotten themselves well situated seeing as they're still getting a steady income relatively speaking. Everythings well set... I think you'll see more of a change in pace depending on who's elected President... Should I start a business in this economy?
Q. I want to start a bridal shop/wedding coordinating business in michigan within the next 5 years. I know the economy isn't that great though. (It's my dream.) And when the bridal shop is slow the wedding coordinating will support me. Do you think I could get enough start-up money from the bank or get a loan or something? What would you do? Or should I just save my money for the next 5 years and see where that gets me?

A. The answer is 'YES' but you should find other sources for your start up revenue or start REAL small. Basically, do not risk what you have to get 'more'...

A. The business cycle or economic cycle refers to the periodic fluctuations of economic activity about its long term growth trend. The cycle involves shifts over time between periods of relatively rapid growth of output (recovery and prosperity), alternating with periods of relative stagnation or decline (contraction or recession). These fluctuations are often measured using the real gross domestic product. One of the government's main roles is to smooth out the business cycle and reduce its fluctuations. To call those alternances "cycles" is rather misleading as they don't tend to repeat at fairly regular time intervals. What would you think of a family of snobs lost their business in the economy?
Q. I'm a Mormon, and this family would always treat everyone with harsh contempt, and held their small business above everyone else. They mainly worked with their hands, and didn't have a university education, but still treated everyone else as though they were lesser. Now, because of the economy, the lost their business. With no other skills... What do you think about that? Irony? (Don't lie...) They owned a store

entrepreneurial culture and the british economy? business studies homework, help?
Q. so i have a question on my business studies homework "to what extent does an entrepreneurial culture benefit the UK economy?" its worth 10 marks and just basically don't have a clue where to start any help or info is appreciated :) thanks
Asked by ZoZo - Sun Sep 20 18:50:06 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Point number 1 - the economy (now more than ever) needs cash. Businesses put a whole pile of cash directly into the government coffers through taxation - corporation tax, VAT revenues, PAYE. Also there is an indirect contribution because businesses employ people who can then pay income tax and purchase other items within the economy which creates further VAT revenues for the treasury and further employment etc. Another point is that by employing people, there are fewer people unemployed and needing social security benefits which saves the government money. So, more entrepreneurs, means more business, means more tax and means lower unemployment. All good things for the economy.

A. stop whining. the economy is fine. GDP growth is projected at almost the same levels as last year. if you can't make money, you have only yourself to blame. you can make money today just like you would have 2 years ago - by working hard, being competitive, and actually doing something you're good at. i hate to say it, but if your company can't make money, then it's most likely because you don't know what you're doing. maybe try selling the business and getting into something you're actually good at. if you're not good enough to make money there, either, than just give up on being a business owner, because you're obviously not cut out for it. there's far less shame in throwing in the towel when you can't compete than staying in… [cont.]

What can I do to increase business in this economy?
Q. The opportunity has come up to purchase a salon that I have had my eye on for a long time. I know this is not the best time to go into business, but it is a once in a lifetime type of thing. I am looking for ways to get people in the door during these tough times. The salon is in a small downtown area on main street. It is an upscale salon/spa and will be a Paul Mitchell focus salon. I am willing to discount services, but I want to make sure the promotions seem valuable to the client but don't cheapen the business.

A. "High end" is making it's way out of the American mainstream. We can't afford it or the debt we've created trying to act like we can afford it. The hardest hit businesses are the ones that offer a product or service that can be purchased at similar value elsewhere for less. I know that my days of expensive haircuts are over, I'm drawing the line at $20 for a cut. Sure, I may not be getting the luxury of a posh salon, but my cut still looks good. I work in marketing, so I'll give you the advice I'm making others pay for... Sell your prices. Make them reasonable and post them in store and on printed marketing pieces, offer a good service, and build up a client base, then you can slowly raise them up. Good luck.

I work in marketing, so I'll give you the advice I'm making others pay for... Sell your prices. Make them reasonable and post them in store and on printed marketing pieces, offer a good service, and build up a client base, then you can slowly raise them up. Good luck.

Are there any tips to get into business class from economy class on the plane?
Q. I remember while boarding United airlines to LA, the air hostess told me if i want to sit on business class and I immediately admitted! Why did she choose me? It was very lucky for me to get this opportunity.

A. A lot of times flight dispatch will crunch the numbers after boarding and learn a couple of folks need to move up front to make the weight and balance of the plane within limits. They contact the pilots on company radio and ask them to have a couple of people in the cheap seats move up front, the pilots tell the flight attendants who in turn ask someone to move. Happens quite often.

upgrading to business class from economy?
Q. Hi, Me and my fiance are travelling to Kerala India in December this year. We currently have economy seats booked for our 13.5 hour plane journey! I was wondering how much more approx would it cost to upgrade to business class? anybody know? We're booked with Holiday Hypermarket - a part of First choice. I'm flying from the UK by-the-way, not the US.

A. the best way to find out is to call your airline... the customer service is the quickest way to find out, and they will be more than happy to answer your question... ususally it will be (at minimum) double the price of your coach tickets... but a good travel tip here... if your flight is booked solid, and they are looking for volunteers to get bumped to the next plane, offer your seats and request in compensation an upgrade on the next flight- often they will do this instead of a free flight coupon or $500 voucher. good luck, for long flights like that it is totally worth it.
